In Grupo Altube we continue to strive to stay at the forefront in the manufacture and development of feed for competition and leisure horses and we have now made a range of feeds the production qualities and unbeatable results of which underline our status as experts in equine nutrition.
All our products and processes are guaranteed and subject to rigourous food safety and quality controls, and we carry out strict monitoring procedures in matters relating to the prevention of biological contamination. All these processes have produced a feed which, in its different variations, not only covers horses' basic nutritional requirements, but also complements and enriches each and every need of all types of horses (including competition horses, brood mares, foals, leisure horses, etc.) in an exclusive and very special way.
Based on selecting a mix of highly digestible cereals and pulses, our feeds undergo a process in which, following a thorough cleaning of all raw materials, we use a heat-manufacturing system that involves steaming the initial product, drying and cooling it, then converting the grains into thin slices or flakes. This process, in addition to substantially improving the physical, chemical and organoleptic properties of the cereals and pulses, provides the properties for a balanced nutrition. Also added to the mix are a series of products such as protein and fibre concentrate pellets, alfalfa, carob, vitamin and mineral concentrates, marine algae, medicinal aromatic herbs, soya and linseed oil and other vegetable products that give this range of feed a wide myriad of beneficial qualities, including the following:
- An increase in feed digestibility, thus improving energy efficiency factors.
- The size of the slices and flakes has a considerably stimulating effect on intestinal transit.
- The fibres ferment more easily, thus protecting the balance of intestinal flora.
- Improved quality in the health aspects of the nutrients in the feed serving, eliminating the presence of toxins, bacteria and fungi.
- Makes feed servings more appetising.
- Non-nutritional elements that may be present in the raw materials prior to the manufacturing process are eliminated, producing a significant reduction in the risk of colic, provided the horse is handled correctly. (See also the expert advice).br>
