There are many factors involved in the speÂcific composition of each feed product. HoweÂver, our obsession is based on the premise that, to produce a high quality and appetising product, we cannot ignore the specific and unique chaÂracteristics of a speÂcies that is expected to perform tasks and diverse disciplines that are not those it evolÂved to do. This is currently the case of diÂffeÂrent types of horse such as both competition and leisure horses and also senior and injured horses.
To this end, we use a balanced and grounÂdÂbreaÂking formula created by experts with the latest innovations in equine nutrition. In addition to our characteristic steamed flakes, our factories have created a long fibre pellet that is flour and toxin free. Thanks to this BREAKTHROUGH we have succeeded in creating a feed product that is totally REÂLIAÂBLE, HEALTHY, DIGESTIBLE, APÂPEÂTISING AND TRACEABLE.
ALTUBE’S FACTORIES
Our factories are dedicated only and exclusively to the manufacture of horse feed, Latest computer controlled machinery monitors every step of the manufacturing process, ensuring a high-quality product. , which allows us to obtain a product of great quality and without crossed pollutions.
All raw materials that we used for manufacturing horse feed are previously bought for selected suppliers, with strict quality and food safety standards, based on our good practice code and the ISO 22000 standard.
Prior to this process, we clean all raw materials use thoroughly, with a sieve and fine particle suction system, to prevent physical contamination of our ingredients.
We also take special care to prevent biological contamination of forages and cereals with strict regulation of food quality in order to eliminate any harmful substance that could concern the health of the horse, specially the mycotoxins.
We improve the physical, chemical and organoleptic properties of cereals and pulses using a thermo-manufacturing system that produces flakes; this involves steaming the raw material, then drying and cooling it to change the grains into thin sheets or flakes.
Transforming cereals and pulses into flakes offers the following advantages:
Increases the digestibility of the feed, improving energy efficiency factors.
The particle size of our flakes also favours bowel transit.
Favours the fermentability of the fibres, thus providing greater intestinal protection.
Improves health quality of the foods present in the serving, eliminating the presence of toxins, bacteria and fungi.
Makes feed servings more appetising.
The presence of non-nutritional elements is eliminated.
It thus considerably decreases the risk of colic, provided that the horse is handled correctly. (See also the expert advices).
Unlike other products for horses our feed do not contain flours nor by-products, nor we use treacle to hide the dust and to keep the palatability of the product.
